Characteristics: The first records mentioning the village date from between 1308 and 1360. The 'Rada' part of the name of the village is a Slavic proper name. For decades, it was part of the Turkish Empire. Since 1945, the population has been declining.
This is due not so much to migra¬tion, rather to the aging of the population. The main economic activity of the people is agricul¬ture. Wine production is also sig¬nificant.
The development plan of the mu¬nicipality to the year 2000 is the construction of the sewage system. Nagyrada has not been discovered by tourists yet, but because Zalaka-ros and the Kis-Balaton lie very close, tourism is a potential filed for development.
